After-hours triage

Our clients can reach one of our doctors by phone after hours. They assess your pet over the phone and tell you what to do next, and whether it can wait until morning.

Answers the same visit

Comprehensive in-house testing, digital X-ray and ultrasound mean most diagnoses don't wait for a courier.

Pharmacy on site

Prescriptions, parasite prevention and prescription diets filled before you leave, with refills by phone.

Built for the Valley

Bilingual service, wheelchair and ramp access, and a team that's been part of Petawawa and Pembroke for years.

For anything urgent, call. For check-ups, vaccines and refills, send this and we'll confirm a time by text.

This is a design concept. On the live site this request goes to the front desk and the client gets a text when it's booked.

A note from Tech Loop

Why we built this concept for Petawawa Animal Hospital

Two veterinarians, an after-hours triage line, a brand-new building and 155 Google reviews, behind a website whose first line tells visitors to upgrade to Internet Explorer 9. Families posted to Garrison Petawawa choose a vet in the first week, on their phones, and the site should win that search.

What we found on petawawaanimalhospital.com

  • An eVetSites template from the XHTML era: table layout, no viewport tag, and a banner that says "This site is designed for IE9 or above"
  • The move to Water Tower Road is announced in a pop-up over the old page instead of being the headline
  • Thirty-plus menu links in a sidebar (Pet Food Recalls, Poisonous Plants, Site Map) bury the three things people need: hours, phone, services
  • Booking a visit is a paragraph that says to call; nothing is tappable on a phone
  • Not a word about the 155 reviews, and the team bios people would love are three clicks deep

What this concept changes

  • One promise in the headline, the phone number as the main button, and the new address in the first line
  • Four convenience cards up top (after-hours line, same-visit diagnostics, pharmacy, bilingual and accessible), the way the best vet brands do it
  • Services as a grid with one plain sentence each, the emergency card in its own colour
  • The team, with their pets and hometowns, plus Noelle in her own yellow card
  • A new-client flow written for military families, hours and directions in one place, and an appointment request that confirms by text

What's included

  • This concept was free. The full site is one fixed price: design, build and launch on petawawaanimalhospital.com
  • Built from your own photos: a few phone shots of the new hospital and the team, plus the pets on your Instagram (the images here are placeholders)
  • Online appointment requests to the front desk, with a text back to the client
  • Google Business Profile tidy-up: new address confirmed everywhere, hours, photos, services
  • Simple editing for holiday hours and team changes, with hosting and updates for the first year

Design cues from the best in your field

Before drawing this we looked at the brands setting the standard for veterinary websites. Bond Vet opens with a photo of a vet and a dog in an exam room and a headline about hours and walk-ins, one Book Now button, then four feature cards (membership, convenient hours, virtual visits, pet portal) and a warm, reassuring tone that centres the owner. Small Door does the same with big friendly type and pets in every frame. This concept keeps that shape: convenience first, plain language, one obvious action, and your own team's personality instead of a stock-photo smile.
